Since we will be driving up North and Lola will ride in her crate, and since our new bedroom will be upstairs I moved Lola's crate into our room last night so she can get use to sleeping with the door closed and in the same room with us. (She is use to sleeping in her crate with the door open inside her pen where she has a pee pad. All in the kitchen) She did AWESOME! She went right into her crate when I asked her. Never made a sound all night. Even when Chris got up early early this morning she stayed quiet. She didn't even seem to want to come out of her crate when I got up. She has her favorite bed in there so that helps. I am so pleased!
I can also tell that the training with Jan is making a huge difference. In how Lola and I communicate and in her attentivness to us. She picks up on things really quickly and is eager to learn. Yesturday when I first brought her home from the kennel she was really hyper. So I put on my clicker and got some little treats and had her do some training. Sit-down-sit (puppy push-ups) . . . . It helped her calm down right away. Yay. And Lola is 6 months tomorrow. Which helps and hinders. She is getting older and knows us better. But now she is moving into the teenage stage of puppyhood. I am glad that we have started the training because that will make it that much easier to work with her while she is testing her boundries.
So all in all I am feeling so much better. Still a challenge :) But feeling much better.
