hello all. I am back. I know I have been a little scant on the blogs. I got use to being without internet and am just now getting back into the habit of logging on.
Things are going well here. I really like it. We have been told not to tell people we like it so more people don't move up here. Well there goes the secret. It is overcast today but still bright out. It stays light until after 9pm right now. In the summer it should stay light until 10pm. The winters will be dark but it is nice now.
I promise I will take some pictures of the house soon.
Today I am hoping to get some more office boxes unpacked. The main floor is pretty much done. There are a few things that don't have homes yet. And we need some more Ikea bookshelves for all the books and dvds.
Upstairs the closet is still mostly in piles and the office boxes are scattered around. Yesturday I got the office furniture in place so unpacking it all is next.
Chris's mom is coming into town in a couple weeks. Yay! Our first visitor. We are going to have our housewarming party that weekend too.
So far all the people I have met here have been from Southern California. Even the guy at the T-mobile store, and my new vet.
We got our Washington drivers licenses last week. I called to get a copy of the title to my car yesturday. The guy on the phone kept saying "give me a break" instead of "hold on please" and he kept asking me to repeat things before I finished saying them so I hope he got all the information to the right place. He seemed a little confused. But anyway, once I have that then I can get Washington plates. They have AAA here but they don't do the registration services like they do in California. They seem to have everything else, just not the DMV stuff. Which is a bummer but the licensing offices I have been to have been nice.
My T-mobile Shadow officially died. It was my third once since December. Though I think the first one I exchanged was ok I just thought it was broken. But the second two were definetly screwed up. Tuesday morning it started acting funny, saying "no sim card" and staying on but saying the phone was "off". By the time I got it to the T-mobile store it was doing all kinds of weird things. Which is good I suppose because they I don't sound crazy "no I swear it was doing this weird thing earlier". Since there were all these peramiters to get a different kind of phone and I did fit into them the store manager was really nice and worked out an upgrade for me. I had to pay some but not what I would have without him helping me out. They would have given me another Shadow, but I was done with that phone. So the manager upgaded me to a Blackberry Curve, which is the other phone I was looking at when I got the Shadow. It seems nice so far. I am still setting it up. Always takes me a little to get into the groove of a new phone. Oh the phone drama. No more first gen phones for me. I am waiting until they have had a few upgrades or have been around for a while. The Curve has been through a couple and I have read that it is a good phone. People seem to like it. I also signed up for the phone protection. It is another $6 a month, but it seems worth it. I don't think I would have had as much problem getting a different phone if I had signed up for that before. Or if I drop it in the sink they will send me a new one.
Lola loves it here. She is doing much better on her walks. I think part of her problem before was that she was having a lot of bowel issues and it was making her stop a lot on the walk. Once she was only pooing twice a day (her giardia being gone for a while) she did much better. She started to have symptoms again so I took her to the vet and had her tested. And yes she has it again, but I thought we might have to go through another treatment. I think we caught it early so we will just keep fighting it. I like the vet a lot. He was informed, but not pushy and not too apathetic either. I am glad. I don't like finding new doctors.
Chris is taking the bus to work and he seems to like it. There is an express that leaves a couple blocks from our house. It only takes him 15 mins, then a 5 min walk at the other end. So not too bad. Seems like a lot of people take the bus here. So much so it seems to be an issue, there arn't enough busses. The issue is whether to get more busses or build a train. I am glad the bus system is nice. I havn't been on it yet but I hear it is nice. Chris can also park his scooter at work for free (car parking is very expensive) so once we get that licensed he could take that too.
Well I know it wasn't a very funny post but I think that is all the news today.
