No more Myspace for me

Today I deleted my Myspace account. I may regret this later but I don't sign in very often (nor do I sign into my Facebook account that much either). One less place with me on the web. I think there are enough places on the internet to look me up if you need me.

The past few days (besides kicking it with Nina) I have been working on cleaning up our accounts and working on our finances. I have a lot of Dave Ramsey homework to catch up on since we missed a week. Now we are getting into the big stuff, budgets and debt. So I am feeling a little swamped but I am glad to be doing it. It will feel great when it is done (and when I have made some sense of it).

Last night we went to this great Italian place in Fremont that Chris found on Yelp. Hmmm it was called . . . Rialto. (found it) Chris, Nina and I all had awesome food. And very affordable. Cheaper than some of the burgers we have found around here. Definetly good food.

Nina and I also went to the Fremont Troll while we were there. It has been fun to hit the tourist stuff with Nina, it is hard to remember to do those things where you live.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Things have been good here. We are enjoying the last days of summer here in Seattle. It looks like it may be over by the end of this week. It has been a really pleasant few months only one or two days it was really too hot. And that is saying something for not having any air conditioning or ceiling fans.

Chris had his first big product launch at Real Networks. Real Dvd. They have been getting a lot of press. And once you get past the comments of the hackers that say they can already rip dvds there is some good feedback. Real Networks has a image problem but I think this product is really cool and should do well. My analogy is that it is like iTunes for you movies. This is the Newsweek article that came out recently.

I am proud of my husband. It think this is a cool, useful product that will be enjoyed be those with large movie collections and families with kids. His hard work on this product is what got us up to Seattle. Thanks babe, I appreciate it.

A few weeks ago I was riding the bus with Chris and Nina and saw a girl reading this book Maisie Dobbs. The cover was so intriguing that I noted it in my phone.

More recently Nina and I went to the Smith Tower in Pioneer Square and stopped by Seattle Mystery Bookshop. On their "Staff Picks" wall they had Maisie Dobbs. It was a sign so I bought it and really enjoyed it. It is set in the 1920s and is beautifully written. Part historical novel, part girl detective and all good. I highly recommend it. I am eager to read the other books in the series.

We have found a church here that we really like called Westside Church. The pastor and his wife had us over for dinner last night (they are our age which is cool bonus). We had a really good time. The wife runs this group MOPs Mothers of Preschoolers (infant through 5yrs). They get together twice a month and socialize and have speakers etc. I may go help out with the childcare. And hopefully I will be a MOPs soon too.

The pastor and his wife also run a small group that meets every other week. It sounds like a good time, food, socializing and a little learning with couples our age. So we may start going to that too. Branching out in our community as it were.

We are also doing a financial seminar by Dave Ramsey. It is 13 weeks (we have done two so far). So far I like it but we haven't had to actually do anything yet so we will see how hard it gets. I like what he has to say so far and we are both eager to start some good habits with our money before we get in too deep.

Tonight I start Yoga for Healthy Backs at a local yoga place. I have never done yoga or pilates before so hopefully I do well. My back has been bothering me a lot lately so I am excited to try this out.

I think that covers the basics. I have been hanging out with Nina (who is visiting from Bolivia, her sister moved here about the same time we did). I have been getting to be a tourist with her. It has been a lot of fun. I will post some pictures soon.
