I may have mentioned before how much I like Netflix instant streaming. I don't even use the DVDs they send anymore since we mostly just watch what they have on "Instant". We watched two movies this week. One I liked and one I didn't.
Monday night we watched Bottle Shock, with Alan Rickman and Bill Pullman. It is the true story of how California became respected wine country, as opposed to just the French. I thought it would be alright but have some of the polishing flaws that indi films sometimes have, but I really enjoyed it. Made me want to go back to Napa (when there are no crowds of course) and drink some good wine. I recommend it.
Last night we watched My Kid Could Paint That.
This is a documentary about 4 yr old Marla who became a painting sensation. This one was sad and frustrating because you had to watch the family rise and fall depending on the media. The father seems a little ambitious and the mother reluctant to put her daughter out there. I expected it to be about a little girl who sold paintings, it became more about the doubt that people had that she painted them herself and the scandal that went along with that. I am glad to have seen it but I am also sadder for it.
